I attended a conference once where the instructor stood on stage and sprinkled pretend holy water on the audience. As he did, he called out, “You are now deemed worthy,” over and over again. This might sound a little ridiculous but it was a profoundly therapeutic way to ingrain I am worthy into one’s BEing. It resonated deeply with me and many others in the room, I suspect because we carry shame and unworthiness around all the time.
Our ego-limited self is constantly chattering “No, don’t do it,” “You’re not good enough,” “You’re not smart enough,” “Who do you think you are?”
As we live health soulFULLY, it’s our J.O.B. to interrupt that nonsense with these two words: “So what?” followed by “With all my limitations, I can still follow my heart’s greatest desire.”
What’s tugging at YOUR heart? Maybe you’re not sure, but you can feel that where you currently are is not your final destination. Elizabeth Gilbert, New York Times best-selling author of Eat Pray Love, refers to this feeling as NOT THIS. She describes it as a moment in life when your body, your heart, and your soul will gather together, look at the situation you are in (your toxic job, your failing marriage, your addiction, your depression) and say NOT THIS …I was not meant for this.
But if not this, then what? Who knows!
