This past week, I participated in a Tony Robbins event aptly named Unleash the Power Within. I went with the intention of increasing my belief in self to achieve what I want most: deeper relationships, more vibrant health, true abundance and even the audacious goal of helping millions of children live happier healthier lives.
I sometimes feel overwhelmed and frustrated in the process from too much to do and the feeling that I’m just not moving fast enough to achieve what I want most.
As the four-day event unfolded, I discovered what I’m really trying to achieve is the feeling I’ll have once I accomplish goals.
When I look at every goal in the eye, it’s the feeling of joy I’ll have as each goal becomes a reality. Imagine a child jumping up and down with a huge proud smile on their face of something they did that served a greater good – that kinda joy!
During the event, I learned this powerful technique I now call my morning “Cup of Joy”. The first time I added this Cup of Joy to my morning ritual, I went for a run afterward and the insights I received felt amazing! Guess what I did when I shared my insights with my friend immediately after the run? I jumped for JOY!!!! I jumped up and down with proud excitement as the words poured out of my mouth.
Imagine starting your day filling yourself up with the feeling you want most in life.
It’s like putting on your oxygen mask first thing every morning and then inhaling what you want more of – love, joy, freedom – before you do anything else. This morning “Cup of Joy” makes my morning “Cup of Joe” feel minuscule. That’s saying a lot because I’m a HUGE fan of coffee.

What’s at cost if you don’t fill yourself up with the feeling you want most every morning? The unspoken feeling of failure.
That’s enough for me to make my Morning Cup of Joy top priority.
