This past weekend we were at our friend’s lake home with several families and brought some food staples, including our gluten-free bread. I prefer our children to eat gluten-free, but they eat everything: gluten and gluten-free.
At one point I didn’t keep bread in the house, but that quickly became a bone of contention and the “I just want to eat a sandwich!” pleas wore me down. We tried a bunch of different brands of gluten-free bread, never found one that brought delight, and settled on Canyon Bakehouse 7-Grain. The “I just want normal bread” moans continued and the only person excited to eat our bread was Grandpa (Go, Papa!).
Luckily, I overheard a friend talking about how her family loves Rumi’s Passion Challah bread. It took me a while, but eventually, I made the trip and bought a loaf. Hello, happiness!!! Rumi’s bakery has mastered the taste and texture of sandwich bread and it’s gluten-free!
When I brought a loaf of it this past weekend to my friend’s lake home, I figured no one would eat it, including our children. Surprise! The kids devoured the loaf within 24 hours, eating slices right out of the bag with smiles on their faces. I overheard one daughter say: “Mom, this bread is awesome!”, which I admit made my entire being happy.
