The Easy Way to Magnetize Joy with Authenticity

Let's face it, true happiness eludes you when you're busy trying to be someone you're not.

Ever wonder why sometimes it feels impossible/uncomfortable/painful to simply be yourself?

It boils down to four major culprits: shame, blame, guilt, and fault. Chances are, you're like me—coated in layers of this muddy mindset mess from head to toe, carrying around beliefs that you're never quite good enough, smart enough, thin enough, quick enough, or "whatever" enough—ugh! It's exhausting.

This muddy mindset narrative, likely fed to you since childhood, becomes a daily diet of self-doubt. I remember feeling inadequate back in grade school, all because I couldn't climb a rope in gym class.

Imagine if, back then, someone had enlightened me that different body types excel at different physical challenges? What if someone said, "Sue, you're unstoppable!"

Perhaps then, instead of labeling myself as 'not athletic,' I'd have approached the next rope climb confidently, ready to show the world what I was made of.

Then, even if I'd stumbled on the ascent again, I'd have crafted a healthier story, like "So what? It's just a rope! It means nothing more than the meaning I give it."

Truth is, we're not all cut out to be rope-climbing prodigies like Alex Honnold scaling El Capitan. But...

What could happen if, instead of concentrating on what you're not, you focus on the unique gifts that make up who you are?

By embracing and showcasing these gifts, you heal not only yourself but the world around you, too.

Accepting and sharing your gifts is how you live more authentically and become a magnet for joy, especially midlife joy.

Think about it, Mama. Where could you give yourself more love, credit, and acceptance? Where are you truly showing up and being incredible?

Once you've got an answer, think of how you could shower yourself with praise for being so amazing. Then, make it happen!

If your soul says, "I want to throw clay and make mugs," then get yourself into that pottery class! Your authentic self is craving creative expression. Plus, who doesn't love a good mug made with love by their own hands?

Worried you're too old to wear that sequin jumpsuit to the grocery store? Gurl, please. If it sparks joy, light up aisle 5 like a disco ball.

Hitting midlife without unleashing your true self is like going to a buffet and only eating salad – safe, and oh-so-boring.

And if your friends think you've lost your marbles because you now prefer kombucha over cocktails and grace over gossip, it's all good, Mama. Soul-deep friends adore the real you – quirks, sparkles, and all.

Living authentically is your superpower, Mama. It's your secret sauce that makes life taste better (plus, the world could use more homemade love-infused mugs and way less shame, blame, guilt, and pretending.)

So, next time you catch your reflection in the mirror, ask yourself, "Where can I sprinkle a little more love and acceptance of me today?"

Authenticity magnetizes joy.

It's time to be unapologetically you and make midlife a blast, one step towards joy at a time!

The ability to be truly happy is within you, Mama. Soulfull Medicine is here to help you know where to look!
